- Install, customize, and maintain system hardware and software products and releases for the hosting platforms. These platforms could include server hardware, server OS, virtualization layers (Vmware), Storage devices and related software, network devices and software.
- Perform system engineering, configuration, and integration for various hardware and software products, operating systems in the hosting environment.
- Investigate and evaluate systems hardware and software.
- Investigate and resolve reported problems. Participate in troubleshooting incidents. Identify errors and document procedures to aid in resolving problems.
- Actively learn the use of various hardware and hosting platforms such as Cisco UCS Servers, Windows Server OS, Redhat Linux OS, Vmware, Veeam, F5, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, wireless and wired switching, etc
- Perform administration functions for supported technologies.
- Provide technical consulting support for all supported products.
- Maintain standards and procedures to document, communicate and control the use of supported technologies.
- Perform duties and responsibilities involved for "on-call" and product administration.
- Process Request, Incident and Problem tickets as well as participate in support activities.
- Work with business stakeholders and product vendors to design integrations to desired systems.
- Advocate new tools, technologies, and processes to continuously improve software and software delivery.
- Augment and assist the organization in planning, organizing, delegating, determining priorities, and monitoring the status of projects.
- Maintain awareness of current technology trends and compliance regulations.
- A college degree or equivalent experience is desired.
- Must have two or more years of experience in IT Infrastructure technologies.
- Operational experience in data processing, preferably server and data center type hosting environments. Including hardware and software.
- Requires an understanding and knowledge of computer system software and hardware and will require continually improving knowledge of the job and the computer industry as well as corporate, division, and department standards.
- Must be familiar with the components of voice and data network equipment and have working knowledge of standard network connection concepts, including System Network Architecture (SNA), TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, other common network protocols, and multiple protocol networks using Cisco or Arista routers and switches.
- Must have thorough understanding of system software installation methods and knowledge of how system software relate to one another.
